Yeah i talk about Devilman enuff... so
by now u should have a couple of questions...
for example (how did Devilman meet goku?) or (isnt he over powered?)

I have an a question

What will the Devilman's series main theme be, one of redemption, one of revenge, one for power, etc

Each arc has different plots completely...

The first Arc is exploration and understanding and introducing that new world.
So first arc self Exploration (Devilman attempt to learn more about himself)

Learns of the heaven and hell war!
This arc is more Fighting and protection...

and theres about 15 other arcs XD

I'm guessing he joins one side in one then joins the other in another?

Nope...
First time he fights both heaven and hell!
Because of his existence the war is more an unequal balance so both sides wish to kill him before his place had been sided.
But during most of the first arc, he meets friends and comrades (they soon also become the first line of to human supers )
And during the chaos he fights both sides and holds the battle to a stand still.

During this halt Devilman finds out the corruption in heaven and ventures there to destroy it (as God would never have a Huge war on earth that could risk lives)
Devilman Then ends the major war.
Earth and humanity now know of Devils, Angels, Heaven, Hell and a hero Devilman.
God turn Devilman Blue to show his good spirit (he is red at the beginning)

In FE:RD, the Daein Kingdom (or heaven in your terms) is facing off with the Begnion Kingdom (or hell in your terms).
The Crimean Kingdom (or Devilman in your terms) accidentally gets involved in the fight (also bringing in the Greil Mercinarys (that includes Ike)).
