Right you are Goku. I think I'm ready for actual animations now. Does anyone know what program a beginner like me could start out with. It's my sprite dream to animate like alvinearthwor-impossible. To animate as well as PkMn2...<_<....Nah.

To take on CrazyChrisTyler. THAT...is my dream.

Start with Macromedia Flash 8.
Why?

• It's the real deal
  
• Simple interface
  
• Stable program
  
• Even your 90's PC can run it

After you've done several animations, then it's time to go to Flash CS5.5. =P
Why?

• Supports the newest Flash Player
  
• Animation plays better

The downside is the big change of the interface and the unstable nature of the program.
But you can change interface to your liking, so that's not a problem.
You also need a better PC for this one.

I'm using CS5.5 right now and I'm still waiting for a stable x64 Flash program.

How you can get those, you ask? You have the internet!

1. I think, you can do more. Once you start with Flash, you will improve a lot.

Let Kami explain. Kamikaze don't know where you got your version of Macromedia flash 8. Maybe Kamikaze got the right one but, it aint workin'. Nothin's happenin' when Kamikaze clicks on it.

Right again, Goku. Kamikaze is ready......but, Kamikaze wants to practice a bit more before moving onto the bigger stuff. And to finish another sprite fight.

But all in all, it's definitely of good help for me. Especially with what I'd like to create.
Just take baby steps. You'll get good at it soon.

It's slow, but sure progress.

Feel free to stick to a sprite animation such as Pkmn2 has if you think it's your calling. Or you could do something like this.
